Our Process

Our Financial Planning and Wealth Management Process is both simple and effective.  We begin with the premise that all clients should have a written and documented financial plan that will clearly state their objectives and concerns and outline our recommendations.

This allows us to track our clients’ progress systematically over time and allows us to answer a simple, yet very important question…  Are you, the client, better off financially for having worked with our firm over the previous number of years? We want the answer to this question to be ‘yes’ for every one of our clients.  Of course, this is very subjective and will mean different things to different people, but the spirit remains the same.

Discovery

The first step in the process is what we call a discovery meeting.  The purpose of the discovery meeting is to ascertain the clients’ current financial position and objectives as well as their expectations of a Financial Advisor and the Advisory Firm.

Chapter One

Once the discovery process is complete, we move on to the first chapter in what will be your financial plan.  The title to this chapter will depend in large part on the discovery outcome as well as your specific issues or objectives.  These can be grouped under the broad categories:

  • Retirement and Investment Planning
  • Insurance and Estate Planning
  • Tax Planning
  • Debt and Cash Management.

Each of these headings will represent a separate meeting and a separate chapter in your financial plan.  You may, or may not, have a need to explore each of these areas, however, once complete, your financial plan is documented and will serve as the foundation of our relationship and the benchmark for your progress.

Review and Monitoring

Of course, once the plan is complete and our recommendations have been implemented, our relationship is merely beginning.  Annual review meetings as well as regular contact to keep you informed are the final step in the process.  Our goal is to continue to keep you informed via regular email contact and telephone availability.  Our review meetings will touch on your documented financial plan and monitor your progress as well as update and adjust anything that may warrant an adjustment.  Your life and plans may change over time and your financial plan and planner should be able to account for and adjust for these expected or unexpected events.  We look forward to meeting with you soon.
